I keep getting stopped on the street walking him, asking if I sent him away to training because he's so good! It feels really awesome to be able to say we did it with a trainer, the virtual classes are so great! :)

We did a virtual session with Nicole and I thought it was wonderful! She was super kind and really helped me learn how to teach my dog to come when called. She taught us a little game and now my dog and I practice it almost daily! I believe I can see improvement in his recall now which is great! I would highly recommend working with Calm Canine Academy!
I cannot recommend them anymore!! I have been working with Calm Canine on some issues I have had with my dog on Zoom and Nicole is by far the best trainer I have ever worked with. She got to the root cause of the issues and explained them to me clearly. Then wrote a plan, which she sent to me to follow for my dog training issues. My dog has now finally stopped peeing in the house and I am over the moon!!!
This is the BEST dog training school in the city, dare I say the world. Karishma is the best dog trainer. She deeply cares about animals and understands dogs so well. I adopted a wily jack russell terrier mix for my first dog and she was a handful. But with Karishma’s support and guidance, I was able to wrangle her into one of the best trained dogs in the world (as vouched by my coworkers, friends and random other dog owners). Definitely worth every penny. Invest in your dog and do it the right way. 🐶❤️
If I could give more than five stars, I would do it in a heartbeat. Karishma is not only an incredibly gifted trainer, but also a unique human being who truly cares about every dog she works with. She wants to see her pups succeed and be their happiest, most well adjusted selves. With her, they become just that!

LOVE these trainers and courses - my puppy came on in leaps and bounds once we started the puppy course and the Calm Canine course. It also helped ME understand how to deal with his behaviours and look for the underlying issues - and how not to be a pushy Mum! Trainers were always so good with feedback on the multiple videos I sent in for evaluation - timely and informative! The most important aspect for me is that it is totally NON AVERSIVE - we look at the true issue and deal with that in a positive non intimidating way!
We were skeptical of doing puppy classes over Zoom, but they’ve been so helpful in getting us through the first three months of puppy parenthood! The WhatsApp group is a super helpful tool that we use to ask questions after little problems might arise here or there, and Karishma and Nicole always share really helpful resources that help meet us where we’re at in our training. We’re really looking forward to continuing group Zoom lessons through the adolescent masterclass!
"Calm Canine's Separation Skills class was great! There were dogs of all ages with varying levels of separation anxiety, and each of us was able to work at our own pace, and see weekly improvements. The class provided me with a strong foundation and a bunch of great exercises that I still use with my puppy. The best part was that even though it was a group course, it was still tailored to the needs of each dog. Sometimes having a dog with separation anxiety can feel lonely, but the structure of the class and the supportive environment made it feel anything but. Thank you Karishma and the Calm Canine team! "
We just started their separation anxiety class and I have already learned more after attending the first 3 classes then I did reading 3 books on SA on my own. I wish I had started with them immediately when I realized that Bernie needed desensitization training. Not only is he making great progress in his separation anxiety, but the class is very holistic, so we also understand how to better provide sufficient enrichment and exercise for a very active puppy.
I’ve been working with the CCA through their Separation Skills program. I appreciated all the available assistance in addition to the weekly class. I then signed on for their month-long Graduate Program to learn how to transition my dog to maintenance work down the road. My dog Snickers has shown great progress and gone from panicking within 90 seconds after I left to going 4 plus hours by himself with the ability to self soothe and settle. They’re upfront and let you know this is a lengthy process (Think months not just a few weeks. Anyone claiming differently isn’t being truthful) but it is well worth it and absolutely works!!
My husband and I were skeptical about virtual training, but it turned out we were apprehensive for nothing! We enrolled our puppy in the Feisty Fido program and have slowly begun seeing some positive (relaxing!) changes in our high-drive, go-go-go, doesn't-know-how-to-relax, Mal puppy. The trainers at CCA gave us all the tools and resources to be the best trainer our puppy needed and were very responsive if we had any issues crop up or questions we needed answered. I would highly recommend them and plan to take their advanced class in the future!
The feisty fido 8-week course was literally life-changing for my dog with major fear aggression. She is now so much calmer. I love that these trainers do not use any method other than rewarding your dog for making healthy choices -- they do not condone punishment. My dog's life just got a major upgrade. Now we can manage her anxiety with so many helpful tips, including enrichment / management, socialization, medication, understanding of her biology, her triggers, what to reinforce and what to avoid. And it was really so simple. The first class alone made a world of a difference (but I would fully recommend the advancement of the skills over the full 8-weeks). Every dog deserves to be treated with respect in the way these trainers make sure to educate and advocate for. God bless these people who care so much for our best friends.
Calm Canine Academy is IT! I could not be more grateful of Karishma's guidance for handling my rambunctious one year old Brussels Griffon. We opted to do a private and the Feisty Fido class - both were fantastic. We are about 6 weeks since graduation and my dog has done a 180! He's now perfectly calm, chill, and so well behaved.
We've had to continuously work with him - it's not a magic pill, you will need to put in honest work with your pooch - but the training will stay with you both way after you stop the weekly zoom meetups. The training is so intuitive and even if you're already super close with your dog, this class will make you fall in love with him even more.
I cannot speak more highly of Karishma either. She is so wonderful. She is beyond knowledgeable about proper, ethical training for dogs and she is so warm and passionate about helping you. She is one of few dog trainers I've come across in NYC who are not pretentious and judgmental. She makes working with your dog fun! Every class and session will improve your dog's behavior. So worth the money.
I'm so grateful for CCA! Would recommend them to ANYONE and EVERYONE!
